Long Horn Logistics was founded in 2022 by a couple of experienced virtual truckers who saw an opportunity to provide better community and VTC for those who want a relaxed and tranquil experience with a well-known company and excellent management and staff.

Please look below for an answer to your question.
If the question isn’t listed, feel free to to contact us, but if the question asked is apart of our Q&A already below, we will not answer it.
We operate as an owner-operator VTC, giving our drivers full autonomy over their equipment, routes, and cargo choices. Unlike traditional fleet-based companies, we do not mandate specific loads, trailers, or delivery types. Whether you prefer hauling farming equipment, grain, liquid tankers, specialized heavy hauls, logging trailers, or any other freight available in ATS/ETS2, the decision is yours.
During organized convoys or group events, we may occasionally request compatible loads to maintain realism and cohesion, but in everyday operations—99% of the time—drivers enjoy complete freedom to select jobs that suit their playstyle and preferences.
No, absolutely not. As an owner-operator VTC, we offer complete flexibility—you drive when it suits your real-life schedule and availability. There are no mandatory daily or weekly driving hours.
To support an active and engaged community, we do require members to meet a modest monthly mileage requirement (details available in the member handbook or upon joining). This helps ensure consistent participation and progression within the company.
For extended periods of inactivity—typically 2–3 consecutive months without logging any miles—members may be removed from the roster to make room for active drivers. We encourage staying engaged throughout most of the year, but life comes first; we understand occasional breaks and handle them case-by-case with communication.
No, our company does not permit or encourage racing-style driving or excessive speeds. We prioritize realistic, safe, and immersive trucking operations in line with real-world regulations and best practices
To maintain this standard:
• In American Truck Simulator (ATS): Drivers must stay under 79 mph (127 km/h) at all times.
• In Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2): Drivers must stay under 62 mph (100 km/h) at all times.
These limits apply across all territories and servers (including TruckersMP simulation environments), ensuring consistent, professional behavior that promotes safety during solo drives, convoys, and group events. Exceeding these speeds may result in warnings or disciplinary action, as it compromises the realistic experience we aim to provide for all members.
Yes, we do implement a short trial period for all new drivers. This serves as a simple onboarding phase to confirm mutual fit: it allows you to experience our community, rules, and tracking system while demonstrating your commitment to Longhorn Logistics through consistent, realistic driving.
The requirement is minimal and flexible:
• Complete approximately 2,000–3,000 real miles (logged via our mileage tracker or World of Trucks profile) during the trial.
• There are no strict time limits or high-pressure quotas—just steady participation to show you’re active and aligned with our relaxed, owner-operator approach.
This low-barrier step helps build a strong, dedicated team while keeping things enjoyable and low-stress. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive full member status with access to all company features, events, and progression opportunities. If life gets busy, we handle extensions or pauses on a case-by-case basis with open communication.
Yes, we strongly encourage realistic driving as a core part of our community experience. Most of our members prioritize safe, immersive trucking—adhering to posted speed limits, proper following distances, realistic braking/acceleration, and respectful interactions with other road users. We enjoy the journey itself, taking time to appreciate the scenery, plan efficient routes, and simulate authentic long-haul operations in ATS (and occasionally ETS2).
That said, we’re not a hardcore simulation-only group. We understand the fun side of sim trucking—occasional light-hearted moments, friendly banter during convoys, or unwinding after a long drive are all welcome, as long as they don’t involve reckless behavior, excessive speeding, or disrupting others. Our established rules (e.g., under 79 mph in ATS and 100 km/h in ETS2) help maintain a balanced, enjoyable environment where realism enhances the experience without feeling restrictive.
This approach fosters a mature, veteran-friendly community where drivers can relax, connect, and drive on their terms while upholding a professional standard on the virtual roads.
Longhorn Logistics is primarily an American Truck Simulator (ATS)-focused VTC, centered on realistic U.S.-style long-haul trucking, routes, and freight. Our main operations, events, convoys, and community discussions revolve around ATS to deliver an authentic North American trucking experience.
That said, we fully support members who enjoy driving in Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2)—several of our drivers (including leadership) regularly haul internationally when they choose. We provide full mileage tracking for ETS2 through our system (e.g., TrucksBook integration), allowing those miles to count toward your personal and company totals. ETS2 driving is completely optional and not a requirement—it’s there for flexibility if you want variety alongside your ATS runs.
This setup lets everyone drive what they prefer while keeping the company’s identity rooted in American trucking realism.
Yes, we support a mix of free and optional paid mods to enhance realism and enjoyment while keeping participation accessible.
• Free mods: We primarily use high-quality, community-created mods available directly from the Steam Workshop (e.g., for trucks, trailers, accessories, and realism enhancements). Many of these are Trucky-compatible for seamless mileage tracking and convoy integration.
• Jon Ruda mods: A number of our drivers (including some leadership) enjoy premium, high-detail mods from Jon Ruda (e.g., custom trucks like Kenworth W900, Peterbilt models, trailers, and accessories). These are optional and not required for membership or events.
To make things easy and compliant:
• We’ll provide a direct link to our curated Steam Workshop collection in the company Discord for easy subscription.
Important clarification: Longhorn Logistics does not distribute, share, or provide any paid mods (including Jon Ruda content) to members. If you choose to use Jon Ruda mods in our convoys or for personal driving, you must purchase them directly from the creator’s official site (byjonruda.com). This respects the mod creator’s work and ensures everyone complies with licensing and platform rules.
This flexible approach lets drivers customize their experience—whether sticking to free mods or investing in premium ones—while maintaining compatibility during group activities.
